The ‘Inception’ star, Postlethwaite died Sunday after struggling with cancer, at the age of 64 at Shrosphire England. Postlethwaite has been ill when he appeared in Ironclad, Clash of the Titans, Inception and The Town. He left his wife Jacqueline, son William and daughter Mary.
Pete was an acclaimed British actor that many of us can remember for his roles in various films, such as In the Name of the father, The Usual Suspects and Amistad, not to mention many others. Gifted with a booming voice together with a rough-hewn face, Postlethwaite was able to command a presence on the big screen.

He used to play small parts on British TV and stage, until he made his first appearance in Alien 3, a Hollywood film. After that, he played as a co-start in The Last of the Mohicans and In the Name of the Father, opposite Daniel Day-Lewis. The latter of the two movies was able to earn him an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for being the dying father of Day-Lewis.

Movies after that nomination was a string of success for Postlethwaite. Steven Speilberg, the reknowned Hollywood director gives high regard to Postlethwaite and even hailed him as “the best actor in the world.” Postlethwaite received it with humor and humility.
With Postlethwaite’s death, there would surely be a big shoe in the entertainment industry that would be very difficult to fill.
